Organist Zac Schurman graduated from The Juilliard School where he studied with Grammy-Award winning organist Paul Jacobs, earning a Master of Music. His undergraduate studies were at Trinity College, Hartford, where he received a full scholarship to study with organist Christopher Houlihan. Representative of his diverse interests, Zac graduated with three minors in Hebrew, Greek, and Religious Studies in addition to his work as a music major. Zac was also awarded the John Rose Organ Scholarship, the Helen Loveland Morris Prize in Music, and was named the 2022 Presidential Fellow in Music.

Zac is the Director of Music at Saint Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Trumbull, CT. He was Director of Music at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manhattan from 2022-2024. Previously he served as Organ Scholar at St. Patrick-St. Anthony, Hartford, as Assistant Chapel Organist at Trinity College, and Associate Organist at Eglise St. Jean-Baptiste. Zac has participated in organ masterclasses with Chelsea Chen, Faythe Freese, Daniel Roth, and Joshua Stafford.

Born and raised on Long Island, Zac previously studied with Mark T. Engelhardt and was the Organ Scholar at St. Peter’s-by-the-Sea, Bayshore. In addition to music, his other interests include classical languages and a diversity of spiritual traditions, ranging from Judaism to Hinduism.
